GENSO is a project of the European Space Agency (ESA) and is coordinated by ESA’s Education Office. The project is endorsed by the International Space Education Board (ISEB), which consists of representatives from the education departments of CSA, CNES, ESA, JAXA and NASA.
The objectives of the International Space Education Board (ISEB), are to: i) increase science, technology, engineering and mathematics literacy achievement in connection with space; and ii) support the future workforce needs of space programs. The board was established in October 2005 by representatives of the education departments of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and membership was expanded in 2006 to include the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES), the French space agency. The ISEB meets in person once a year during the International Astronautical Congress and on other occasions by videoconference. The ISEB members may choose to support student teams from the relevant countries wishing to participate in GENSO. For more information, please contact the ESA Project Manager. |
