GENSO is primarily targeted towards educational institutions that have launched student satellites into space or are planning to do so in the future. Several ground stations and satellites are registered with the GENSO Authentication Server (AUS) for development and testing purposes.

The entities listed below have been used to successfully demonstrate the concept of GENSO and they form the core of the network at this moment in time.

There are many individual radio amateurs with personal ground stations who have expressed an interest to join the GENSO network. Since the beginning of the project, GENSO has benefited from the strong support of the worldwide radio amateur community, in particular through the involvement of AMSAT-UK.
